London Interior Design Companies
It was in the 1750s and onwards that interior design companies in England first began to think about how to incorporate Greco-Roman styles into their work. This movement was prompted in part by new ruins in Rome and exciting excavations in Pompeii. Interior design companies - especially some of London’s top names in design - had been busy working in the Rococo style. The new Greco-Roman interpretations counterbalanced the Rococo ornamentations, reflecting a more authentic vision of natural forms. This new style influence came to be known as the Neo-Classical. It is characterised by Palladian capitals, pediments and stonework. Marble features heavily.
London Interior Design Companies today will often choose Neo-Classical furniture pieces for their firm, clean geometries and forms.
